Chicago and Ohio, yes. Indiana, kinda sorta. I imagine the sarcasm demographic would also spread into southern Michigan, southern Wisconsin, Greater StL and Greater KC.
I became more sarcastic when I lived near Cincinnati, I'll admit. However, even though I had a terrible job with the occasional mean client, I didn't feel like I encountered "that much" sharp, mean sarcasm, although that certainly was there. For the most part, just good-spirited sarcasm from co-workers and clients with whom I really got along.
People are sarcastic around here because they're used to dealing with BS and that's how they cope. There's a reason the most smart-a$$ed people tend to come from urban areas.
