Atlanta is one big shopping mall, and loads of crime. It is about as bland as white bread. Please don't compare it to Richmond.

Richmond is one of those "Best kept secrets" you here about. In spite of the large percent of the city population that is in "distress", Richmond has an attractive and vibrant downtown and many beautiful city and suburban neighborhoods. The metro is just big enough so that you don't have to want for anything. The problem is if you haven't been there it isn't going to be on your radar. If I had to live in the South I can't think of a better place to be.
