My family and I are planning a move very soon but can't decide exactly where...we LOVE Coeur D'Alene ID and the Spokane area but there aren't many IF any direct flights from Houston to that region, same with Grants Pass Oregon...both great areas. We have flight benefits with Contienal/United AKA FREE...so kinds need to stick to their flight destinations. We like the Northwest area but need a ton of sun! We would enjoy a mid size town but no more that 2hr drive from MAJOR airport (not regional). California isn't really on our radar, too pricey. Any suggestions would be great!!
Famliy of 4, homeschool, slow paced life, need a great church, affordable living, LOTS of outdoor activity, 4 seasons, BUT lots of SUN and GREEN!
Greenville SC meets your criteria with one major airport within 2 hours and another major airport (Charlotte Douglas is one of the busiest on the world) that's within 2 1/2 hours away (Atlanta Hartfield is the busiest airport on the world), and it has direct flights to Houston from its own airport (Greenville-Spartanburg International).
Check it out on Wikipedia, google maps, or whatever you use and tell me if you it's your type of place or not.
thanks everyone...from what I hear Denver is growing too fast and getting pricer. It seem you either live in a moblie home or overpriced cookies cutter neighborhood. I would like some character, so a small older home. As for size 15k+ bottom line is we want to be able to take advantage of the outdoors without driving far to get there yet be able to survive financialy!

15K is pretty small. Gainesville Ga would fit the bill.
There are a number of smaller cities west of Charlotte that would do as well.
