A lot of people talk about what cities are "fake," but there's not a lot of discussion about which cities fall into the opposite category. Which cities are the most "real," where people are down to earth, not pretentious, and tell it like it is?

I agree regarding "most of the Midwest" on the first three character traits, but not the fourth which is "telling it like it is". Midwesterners from my experiences see themselves as too polite for that, although many don't I don't think define brutal honesty as rudeness. For that character trait along with the others I would agree on parts of the NYC area and most of New England.
