List the states that you have spent the most amount of time in, be as accurate as you can. Don't count times where you only spent a night passing through. Only count states that you spent at least a full day experiencing. Also don't count time spent outside the united states.
For me it's:
1. Massachusetts - 15.25 years
2. Maine - 3.25 years
3. Colorado - 2.5 years
4. New Hampshire ~ 25 days
5. Florida ~ 20 days
6. Hawaii - 14 days
7. California ~12 days
8. Vermont - 6 days
9. Rhode island - 5 days
10. Oregon - 4 days
11. Texas - 3 days
12. Nebraska - 1.5 days
13. Nevada - 1 day
Every other state I either haven't been to or only passed through.
Location: northern Vermont - previously NM, WA, & MA

Washington
Idaho
Wisconsin
Minnesota
Alabama
Delaware
Maryland
Texas
California
Hawaii
Illinois
I'll be passing through North Dakota in a few weeks which I've never been to but if all goes right, I won't be spending the night there. I will be stopping a few times on my drive to stretch my legs.
States I've resided in Illinois - ~ 25 Years (Chitown + cdale) Tennessee - 4 months and counting (Murfreesboro)
Have spent at least a month or longer in
A few weeks Kentucky - 20-30 days all on separate trips (my GF's home state)
Several days to a week Florida - 10-15 days on 3 separate trips Wisconsin - Went to Dells twice for short 2-3 day vacations and have also been around the Milwaukee suburbs for work, and once or twice to the drag strip near the WI/IL border, and also bought a car in I think Racine Nevada - 5+ days (went to Vegas when I was 5) New York - 3-4 days (went to NYC for one visit)
Brief visits but at least an overnight

Have only passed through it Michigan (straddled the border on the way to Cedar Point in OH Georgia (stopped off in ATL for lunch I think and drove around) New Jersey
Also, not sure which states we went through to Nevada, since I was 5
California - 10.5 years (on 2 occasions)
District of Columbia - 10 years
Washington - 4 years
Oregon - 3 years
Hawaii - 3.5 years (on 2 occasions)

Massachusetts - 2.5 years
Maryland - 4 years? (childhood)
Virginia - ~1 year (infancy)
Illinois - 1 year (childhood)
New Hampshire - a few months during & after college (my mom lived there)
Plus about 4.5 years in Europe and a random month or two elsewhere.
Florida: most of 24 years,
Not a state but District of Columbia. College for 4 years.
Here is where it gets difficult. I have spent 1 month in California and have spent at least 6-8 more weeks visiting there. I think that beats out the actual amount of time I have spent in Virginia while living in D.C.
So 3. California
4. Virginia
5. New York
6. North Carolina
7. Illinois
8. Maryland
Obviously, the state(s) you've spent the most time in is the state(s) where you live. The rest can simply be answered as "what states have you visited."
But the fact that any of you can actually count the days (and hours!) you've spent in a place is really disturbing ... why not just ENJOY life and quit obsessing about this stuff?
I will add the states that I have spent a year or more in: Florida, California, Illinois, and New York.
