Have you tried Tulsa? We have a large maintenance base here in Tulsa and a small Muslim community here. I haven't noticed people making negative comments about the Hijab. But, it is OK so we do have a share of ignorant rednecks so you may want to stay within Tulsa city limits.

Try the Texas cities of Dallas and Houston. Both very affordable and very diverse. I reside in a suburb of Dallas and the Muslim community is extremely active here. They work closely with our city on food drives and the adopt a street program. People don't give a second glance to hijabs or Muslims here and we welcome any good neighbor.
Houston and Dallas would probably fit your requirements since they have a sizable aerospace sector (although I guess it would depend on your job) and are generally muslim friendly. I would also consider looking into the Seattle and Los Angeles area as well.
The Dayton, OH area has aerospace jobs, is very affordable, and recently has had a bunch of Middle Eastern immigrants, although you may still get dirty looks in some parts of the area.
