Makes you wonder how many lives were saved with emergency calls, how much information was passed by voice? You might as well say your favorite invention pariod because just about all inventions that are any good were invented in the United States.
You mean, like, radio and automobile and antibiotics and transistors? Which would come in somewhere near the top on the list of inventions that are any good and had a significant impact on progression toward our present way of life.
The Italian Innocenzo Manzetti built a working telephone 32 years before Belll patented his device, and Bell would have certainly known about it and how it worked.

Everything was invented in Mother Russia, according to very well researched articles in Pravda in the 1950s. Just like the American guy upthread who said everything important was invented in the USA, and Americans are quick to believe him.
