Baseball, of course.

Baseball transcends mere sport -- it is the essence of the universe.

Telephone,,,,, what a difference it made over the years from the start and now it continues to stimulate the economy and keep people connected with each other. Makes you wonder how many lives were saved with emergency calls, how much information was passed by voice? And it started the development of so many other electronic items with the Bell Labs and the transistor being the start of so much more than just the phone.

You mean, like, radio and automobile and antibiotics and transistors? Which would come in somewhere near the top on the list of inventions that are any good and had a significant impact on progression toward our present way of life.

The Italian Innocenzo Manzetti built a working telephone 32 years before Belll patented his device, and Bell would have certainly known about it and how it worked.

Everything was invented in Mother Russia, according to very well researched articles in Pravda in the 1950s. Just like the American guy upthread who said everything important was invented in the USA, and Americans are quick to believe him.
