Yeah the roads in the northeast definitely suck compared to other places in the country.

This is why I say the focus needs to be on rebuilding existing infrastructure instead of building new infrastructure. If I was in charge, I'd have the federal government provide a higher percentage of the cost of rebuilding existing infrastructure, and shift the burden on brand-new infrastructure to the states.

Existing infrastructure would be defined as existing rights of way plus anything within 60' of it on either side. If a state wants a whole new right of way for a new highway, then it better be ready to pay more for it.

Yeah I agree. I just don't get how 90 has been a toll road since I was born and the road has always sucked. Where is all that toll money going to? I drive it everyday and rarely see repairs being made.

Texas is looking pretty good! And we manage to keep all these roads (the most miles of roads in the nation) in good shape with no state income tax too.

Arizona has some of the best freeways in the nation, if you ask me. The roads are usually wide and smooth. However, the DOT is crazy about wacky merging in the roads!
