Funny, I was gonna offer to help if you had any questions about Jax but Kyle seems to have things covered. He's completely right that Jax's economy is very diverse, and what he listed is just the tip of the iceberg. If you like cheap, family-friendly suburban living then Jax is great. For the urban lifestyle it is sorely lacking but the situation is improving.
I would also consider Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, and Austin. Neither TX nor FL have a state income tax, which is nice. But 3 bedroom for $1200 will be easiest to find in Jax.
