I currently live in Wisconsin and I need a change! I LOVE nature, woods, lakes, and outdoor living/activities (hiking, snowboarding, kayaking, etc.) So I am looking for a state with lots of hills/mountains and forest coverage, especially deciduous forests. I want a culture of healthy living and maybe slightly hippyish. I care a lot about low pollution and clean air. Of course affordability, healthcare, and jobs are important as well. I have some states in mind: New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, upstate NY, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Arkansas. I would love to hear any opinions on these states or others, both good and bad! I love Pennsylvania but am worried about the pollution, if anyone has any input on this.
Maybe Ithaca NY, State College PA, Burlington VT, Morgantown WV and Blacksburg VA, among others, may work.
