11-12 hour drive from San Diego to the OR state line, though, and while that's long (and dependent on traffic), it's a one day drive. I've done many one-day drives at or over 12 hours. I think I'm probably too old for it now, though, haha...have done the one-day 7 hours from Milwaukee to Copper Harbor, MI a couple times over the last year, though. Side note: it's almost 11 hours from Copper Harbor, MI, to Temperance, MI, which is just south of Detroit - that's an in-state route almost as long as San Diego to Oregon.
Yeah I drove from San Diego to Chico (parent's home to college and back) several times in my tiny '76 Honda Civic drafting off of Semi's and in that bouncy little car it always took 11 hours or so and you ended up feeling very drained with your head just buzzing for a couple of hours after that.
I always said if you arc'ed out that distance into the rest of the country you could have driven to Nebraska lol, maybe exaggerating just a little bit.
8 States (Missouri also has 8 - 8 is the most) border Tennessee and I have been to 6 of them: North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia, Missouri and Mississippi. I have not been to Arkansas or Alabama yet.
I have spent about 75% of my life living in states that border Iowa, yet I have never been to Iowa! Now I live far away, but I'm hoping to make it happen.

Run for President! Everyone is doing it. You will get to spend a great deal time in Iowa (and New Hampshire) and other people will pay for it!
People would be shocked at how many Burgh folks have never been to OH, I swear the PA line is a hard border or something, almost like a Wall exist there. People can tell you everything about 5-6-7 Hrs to the East, but can't tell you anything about 30 mins to the West.

I feel better about myself now. I've never been to Ohio, either. Do you think there's some sort of invisible fence? I didn't get to West Virginia until (I think) 2007.
I've driven through Alabama, and have visited Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina in the past. Somehow, I've never found a reason to drive through or visit Tennessee.
