Don't count on Charleston.

I'd go with Denver, though it really depends on a lot of your own internal factors on what city you decide.

Thanks ...
Charleston is very highly praised but why isn't it all that people say it is

Charleston, and this is the vibe I'm getting from reading about it on the census viewer, other than some growth in working age young adults working for a few high-tech firms in North Charleston (who are mostly White or Asian), the Charleston area is very, VERY Southern in demographics.

Live down in Jackson, Mississippi, and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

Oh wait, on second thought, you really don't want to live in Jackson.

It stills get cold in Denver. I'm from the Midwest too. Hawaii is just so expensive and it's just "out there". A plane trip back to the lower 48 is really expensive, and they don't get paid $20 a hour to offset living expenses. So, basically, if you can live on 20-30% lower than what you do now go for it. My uncle lived in Hawaii for awhile and he came back several months later because it was so expensive.
