Is there a chance of Amerindians and Alaska Natives surpassing Asians in population and becoming a larger minority in the United States? Also, what is the population of Alaska Natives alone and why is the Alaska Native population so small in the USA? Alaska Natives don't even make up the majority of Alaska.

First Nations or "Native American" populations in percentage terms have gradually been increasing in states in the lower 48 like South Dakota, Montana, North Dakota, and somewhat in Oklahoma. In terms of demographics, they tend to have much younger age structures than the white plurality populations in those states.

Maybe in some states, like the ones mentioned above or on a local level, but I don't see that occurring on a national level.

The native population is actually increasing a lot for the past 100 years. Both due to birth rate and people of mixed heritage identifying with native ancestry.

I don't see Native Americans outnumbering Asian Americans for a very long time, if it even ever happens, because Asian Americans, alone and in combination, number 18,200,000 while Native Americans, alone and in combination, number only 5,200,000.

There are, however, many counties with Native American majorities and pluralities. 31 of Oklahoma's 77 counties are Native American plurality; I'm mostly Native American myself.

I roughly added up the populations of the tribes native to Alaska and came up with ~102,000. Like most tribes on the continent, Alaska Natives were significantly reduced in number due to exposure to diseases in which they had no immunity to.
