for the US, I'd live in NYC, Manhattan specifically in Greenwich Village, Chelsea, the UWS right on CPW, or UES anywhere between 59th and 80th and 5th and Lex. Other than that, I'd rather live abroad in a gorgeous terraced home in West London, or somewhere in Central Paris. But for now, I can only dreem.....

Philadelphia, PA, due to historical presence, center city, cost of living, public transportation, and so on.

NYC followed by San Francisco, but since money is an object, I'm more than happy in the 3rd city on that list - Chicago.

If Canadian cities count, put Vancouver on the list also. I'd have to make some more trips to be able to decide.

Weezer sings: "Beverly Hills, that's where I want to be." But I can think of dozens of places I'd rather live.

Austin, on Lake Travis, looking west to the sunset. NYC and San Fran are wonderful to visit but for day to day life, Austin will do nicely. There's nothing that I would want that I couldn't get there, and a lot that can't be had anywhere else.

Not technically an American city, but my husband and I are almost in contract to buy a second house in Rincon, Puerto Rico

I'd stay in LA, but live in a nicer part of town. I may get a nice home in Manhattan Beach or a place in the Hollywood Hills. I'd also enjoy living in a nice house in Pasadena or one of the other foothill communities. For my preferences (urbanity, culture, topography, weather, food, beach) I believe LA to be the best fit.

If money were no object I would choose 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue Washington, D.C. And if money were no object I could probably live there too.

Money is no object? New York (Manhattan) in the summer, San Francisco Bay rest of the year.
