I never disagreed with you on any of this. Just saying that I hold far flung tourists in higher regard when it comes to tourism.
Initially you were saying that you didn't think cities like Atlanta and Dallas were gaining more leisure tourists at all. If you only consider leisure tourists people who travel a thousand miles to visit a place, then that would be misguided and that's kinda the implication you're making.
I think you are wrong.Since when is Buckhead the biggest draw over ths Aquarium,Martin Luther King Jr birth home,Six Flags,Stone Mountain Park, etc?.
One only has to go downtown and see it's a pretty even mixture of both.
Why even ignore the fact that all these attractions were built to keep people no are attracting people?
No so sure why its so hard to fathom when you consider Atlanta;s location in the Southeast as the only city of its size.
Nobody is saying someone from around the world is coming to see Atlanta itself necessarily but they do come for what Atlanta offers such as Festivals and concerts.
Atlanta get more visitors than Dallas or Houston by far yet Dallas and Houston have bigger economies and more buisness. Explain how that happens?

I was saying that in response to the article. Such as "Atlanta has also doubled it's visitors over the last year."
Really? What makes you think that? I'll give you Phoenix but Miami? Dude, it's full of BEACHES... what better time to go to the beaches besides Summer when it's hot, people are on vacation (especially with kids)
People go up north, where the beaches are only open 4 months a year.
Floridians beg to escape their own state in summer.
You might qualify for some sort of medal for the most useless responses.
And you will qualify more for a medal for the most inaccurate, flat out false responses. Only in your dreamland do people not go to visit Miami in large numbers during summer.
