Is that Albuquerque percentage right? Another source I've viewed shows 4.3%.

I assume these are Native American single race figures? There are many Native Americans who are not fully Native who maintain tribal affiliations etc. OTOH the "Native American + some other race" stats might include some folks who say they are 1/8 Cherokee (and descended from a "Cherokee princess" of course!)

Here's Native American alone or in combination for some selected cities over 100,000 (by percentage):

Broken Arrow, OK - 11,963 (11.2%)
Tulsa - 42,129 (10.4%)
Norman, OK - 10,801 (9.0%)
Oklahoma City - 41,696 (6.6%)
Albuquerque - 32,243 (5.8%)
Tuscon - 24,409 (4.6%)
Mesa, AZ - 16,044 (3.4%)
Phoenix - 41,748 (2.7%)
Wichita - 8,791 (2.3%)
Denver - 14,008 (2.1%)
Los Angeles - 63,758 (1.6%)
New York City - 90,923 (1.1%)
Chicago - 23,323 (0.9%)

Notice that all 4 of Oklahoma's largest cities over 100,000 rank at the top.

By metro:
Tulsa - 134,935 (13.8%)
OKC - 104,430 (7.6%)
Albuquerque - 66,288 (7.3%)
Phoenix - 141,905 (3.1%)

From the 2015 Census estimates

While that may be a possibility, you do have those that are mixed and can claim Native ancestry depending on the lineage of the person and the group.

You may find schools in some of these cities, like this magnet school in Buffalo: Native American Magnet - Public School

PS 19 Native American Magnet School

NYC seems rather high. I wonder if a lot of the American Indian/Native American population there are immigrants from Latin America.

Probably and it would be interesting to know which groups the people that are Native American(full or part) come from.

In terms of the Northeast, Syracuse may be the city with at least 100,000 people that has the highest Native American(full or in combination) percentage at 2.3%(according to 2010-2014 census info.). Providence is at 2.2%. I know with Syracuse, when looking at school demographics, you can find schools where Native Americans make up about 2-3% of the students and some that live in the city may still go to school at the Onondaga Nation school and/or on to LaFayette Jr/Sr High.

Duluth, MN should be right up there; there are a large number of Ojibwe in the city, and of course many reservations in the surrounding area.
