Can you suggest an area for us? (fit in, low crime)

Hello. We are looking to move to a place in the United States that meets a bunch of criteria. It's a long list and we've been looking for a few years now. Neither of us have travelled enough to really know what's best for us and would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you!

Our criteria:
* Plenty of water, drought is rare
* Fairly long growing season
* Good region for dairy farming
* Fairly moderate weather, four seasons preferred
* Beautiful natural areas
* Lots of well maintained trails and parks
* Highly conscious of organic agricultural practices, minimizing pollution, and other ecological/sustainability goals
* Availability of "progressive" educational options like Waldorf or Montessori, preferably as public charter schools
* Generally accepting population of un-PC beliefs and practices such as not vaccinating, Eastern religion, Paganism, etc
* Low crime and drug abuse
* Friendly and kind-hearted people
* If city or town, smaller than 40,000 people and does not fluoridate the water
* More than 50 miles from any large (250,000+) cities

* Mostly Northern/Western European or East Asian population (nothing against other ethnicities, personal experience is we just fit in a lot better with those cultures)
* Politics aren't controlled by "social justice" zealots seeking to bring in lots of transients, refugees, illegal immigrants, etc; socialism/regulation-hating libertarians; or bible-thumping jingoist. We don't care if people have these beliefs and would actually prefer a place without everyone thinking exactly alike, we just don't want an area overly dominated by folks with angry, uncompromising agendas. These are omitted because they do not affect us except indirectly; we would prefer not to live in a place of desperation due to poverty, but we personally are not concerned with these factors due to certain lifestyle choices.

Central Pennsylvania - a really physically beautiful area - has a lot of the items on your list. State College would, I'm guessing, be too liberal & PC. Maybe someplace like Altoona (around 45000 pop.)?
The vaccination item could be problematic for public or private schools if they require vac. certification (they used to when my kids were in k-8, years ago).
You can easily get attachments to your water lines to remove flouride, so flouridated city water shouldn't be a make-or-break item.
It'll be interesting to see how the "small town" and "un-PC/non-zealot" lists (among others) intersect. Keep us posted on your progress!

Check out the Charlottesville VA area, the population is a bit higher than you want (48K) but otherwise fits most if not all of your criteria otherwise.

Western Washington, the Puget Sound region: Olympia, Bellingham, Edmonds, Port Townsend (no dairy farms, but there may be one or two in nearby Sequim). The first two are larger than you prefer, but not huge cities. Edmonds is just north of Seattle, very scenic. (No dairies, though) Port Townsend has approx. 5000 people, very scenic, 4 seasons, though mild.

Water is plentiful in the whole region; rain will be increasing in fall and winter, due to global warming, summers are getting dryer for the same reason. Still, this area will be one of the few in the US that will have an adequate water supply into the future, due to increased rain. Port Townsend is located in the "rain shadow" of the Olympic Mountains, so it's not as rainy and blustery as Bellingham, in case that matters to you. These are all liberal areas that have alternative schools, with the possible exception of Pt Townsend, which may not, simply because it's too small. I don't know; you'd have to research it yourself.

If you look in rural areas to the north and to the east of Seattle, you'll also find small towns with dairy farms around. (Carnation, Duvall, Marysville, Monroe, Enumclaw ) WA State is pretty environmentally-conscious.
