Heh? What does having a major Olympic site have to do with the amount of Olympic athletes from a location? CO and UT are obvious, based on topography alone. NY is size as much as anything else.

And idk why VT/MA would surprise you. Mass is essentially one big foothill to the mountains of New England, and VT is a powerhouse every single year. Best skiing east of Colorado.

EDIT: This article is based on where the Olympians reside, not where they're from. So, to your point, the Olympic site would obviously be a good place to train, thus driving numbers to increase. My bad!!

To be fair, how many kids have the opportunity to try speed skating or the luge growing up unless they live near an Olympic facility? But yes, this thread should be titled "Where the Winter Olympians Reside" not where they're from.

While not NYC proper, I think there is at least one competitor from the metro area, a women's freestyle skier from Long Island.
