I could have guessed that Mississippi would be pretty high on that list. I can remember when there was a ton of people moving to the Baton Rouge area from Southwestern Mississippi to find work in the Petrochemical industry here because there were not many jobs in those rural counties of Mississippi.
South Dakota and Wyoming good places to find jobs? RIGHT! Just because a state has a low unemployment rate doesn't make it any easier to find a job or even mean the job market is good. What a stupid list!
Those mean annual wages are pitiful. I mean, Hawaii has low unemployment but its mean salary is in the 30's!! Compare that with housing costs and I see why everyone except multi-millionaires leaves the state.
If you balance housing/food expenses and wages plus low unemployment plus some actual jobs for a family to live on, Nebraska looks like a good place to live.
Big surprise! West hates Ohio, who doesn't know this?
I'm so glad you took notice. I can't help that this place is at the bottom of the barrel in pretty much everything. Oh wait, Ohio does top a list, it's called foreclosures.
