Lubbock, Texas is home of many music artists such as Buddy Holly and the Crickets, and Natalie Maines, lead singer of the Dixie Chicks. 15% of the world's cotton is produced within 100 miles of Lubbock. Lubbock's tallest building is slightly twisted because a tornado directly hit it.

The first Cold Stone Creamery ever was founded in Tempe, AZ in 1988 in an ugly strip mall on Southern/McClintock. It's still there.

Don't worry, as long as there's a Baptist potluck going on somewhere, there will always be Kool-aid!

A friend took me out to lunch for my birthday today and the cream they served with my coffee came in a small porcelain container that we both thought looked like the Kool-aid pitcher! So, I may not drink Kool-aid, but the memory lingers on...

The booster club of Grants Pass, Oregon was formerly known as The Cavemen. The high school mascot is the Caveman and the names of many local businesses start with 'Caveman' and there's even a statue of the Caveman outside the GP Chamber, all due to the proximity of the Oregon Caves National Monument.

During the peak of the cold war, the Soviet Union used footage of the booster club members in full Caveman regalia as propaganda against the U.S. claiming that we had stone age standards of living.
