If I'm not mistaken that is an old fashioned dirt basement, dirt floors, dirt, stone or bricked walls. I saw a lot of them in listed homes in east TN when I was house hunting years ago, I assume it was a common practice in early days to just dig the basement and leave it 'natural' .

Yep, that's my neighborhood and I was going to say that for $250K, you aren't buying anything, unless you are eligible for income qualified properties.

There are a few at that price but not many, some of the older smaller houses are less but the majority are in the $350k and up range, mostly in the newer subdivisions, saw some over 500k.
