Denver is 8 hours away. It seems a sensible place. Not much warmer though

Albuquerque is 10 hours away. Better weather and more chances to live among kindred spirits. Also, housing costs are likely more affordable.

Sacramento is 9.5 hours away, with lots of 55+ communities.

Grass Valley, California is a great community. 9 Hours away.

You know what? Liberal = American. You know what else? Conservative = American.

What seems to have changed in these equations over the last decade or two is that American no longer equals American. How did we get driven so far apart and to such extremes?

It seems to me that if our political extremes get much further apart we'll explode. I say we should tone down being so political, and go back to being Americans first.

But I am enough of a realist to know that will never happen, we will wind up exploding instead.

You have to understand there is a lot of intense hatred and resentment on here for liberals. The original poster should have never used the word liberal.

I don't really think politics should play a part in where you live but the climate and people of the mid-Atlantic fit your description pretty well.

Excuse the word liberal....... to me it means open minded. Key word should have been diverse. I grew up in New Jersey where we all just got along. PS. It was not a political post. Just looking for some suggestions.

Let's be real here. Even the word "diversity" gets the right squawking & their panties in a bunch.

American liberal is far from being open minded.

Diversity is an euphemism for racism.

I thought about, Detroit it is. Liberal and diversed.

The classic liberalism has long been replaced with fascism/socialism/communism/racism.

I'd suggest San Francisco. It's as liberal as you can get-with nice weather to go with it. Just watch where you step.
