I think the curved pedestrian bridge, Liberty Bridge, over the waterfall in Greenville SC's downtown is pretty cool.

It is only supported on one side and a unique bridge in this country.

The thing about the Interstate Highway system is that it was modeled after the German Autobahn so I'm hesitant to call it an American engineering innovation.
