What are some larger cities (metro population of 1 million or more) that are so well-designed that traffic congestion rarely happens if at all? Heard good things about Columbus, Kansas City, and OKC.
New Orleans is good in my opinion, most people don't have to rely on freeways to get around the metro area and the streetgrid is almost fully intact for more than half of the population.
Houston? Bumper to bumper was common on weekend nights when u lived there.
Yeah, agreed. Definitely NOT Houston.
I sat in traffic several times where we inched along, delayed by up to 45 min, when I visited Houston in early 2020. It was pretty awful on the interstates and loops around the city there.
I agree with folks who said most of San Antonio, at least for its size, traffic is not terrible.
Kansas City, yes.
I think SA has bad traffic, just not bad like Austin. A lot of people in SA bring their own flare and culture to the roads.
Orange County is ok for it's size.
DC is the worst.
I visited Cincinnati a few years ago (before COVID). We arrived during the evening rush hour and I was stunned to see that traffic on the expressways was flowing freely. Next morning, I was watching the traffic report while eating breakfast, and every single expressway in the region was showing green. I just couldn't believe it.

I'm curious to know where in Cincinnati you were. Considering Cincy is home to the infamous Brent Spence Bridge, I feel like a qualifier is required here.
