So what's everyone doing on the 4th? We will go to the Louisville, CO community picnic, where the city council members cook hot dogs for the residents. Hot dogs, brats and a small bag of chips are FREE! You have to buy your drink. There are craft booths and activity booths, a bocce tournament to honor our city's Italian heritage, free swimming at the pool (supposed to be in the 90s), much more! The fireworks are on the golf course at dark.
And, it's my youngest 21st birthday! (She has some plans that do not include us, LOL!)
Going to a family friends house to light off fire works (outside the city limits so its all legal, yay!) they have tons of other of their friends come over too
By the good graces of God I'm getting July 3 and July 5 off from work and am only working 6 AM-12 PM on Friday the 4th, so I can actually enjoy myself for the first Independence Day in many years. My best friend (yet not quite a "f*g hag") Meg will be hosting an awesome multi-day party at her family's lake house. I'm already looking forward to waking up on Saturday morning to the smell of bacon while slipping into the front porch hot tub overlooking the mist rising from the lake after a night of watching revelers in that upscale suburb shooting off fireworks left and right. This is going to be awesome!!!
Well the 4th of July is also my sons birthday! So we celebrate 2 birthdays! We'll stay local and see one of the displays in our little town, either at the Church or another one that is sponsored by the town.
But then on the 5th, we are heading down to Dublin, GA to see the Redneck Olympics that my husband has been dying to see, lol.
Our plane arrives into Boston on the 4th at 3:30 and then we are going to try to get a decent seat for the Boston Pops and fireworks show. I know the river front is going to be packed by then, but we figure it is worth trying. It will be the kids first time in Boston and NYC so it is a big trip for them!

That's cool! On the 6th, we are having a family party at our place.
My family has a cabin in the NC mountains. On July 4th, people on the mountain take their cars, motorcycles, bikes, scooters, pick-ups, etc., to the top of the mountain, decorate them with all kinds of patriotic stuff, then slowly drive down the mountain forming a makeshift parade while spectators line the road. The parade ends at the local inn for a giant cookout and sing-along.

Enjoy your family party. I'm kinda jealous, wish we had family here to invite to a party!
