I have been thinking about moving to the east coast for some time now and have just been collecting info. on different places, but it seems like people just know more about where they live than stats. So I ask this, Do you know of a city where I can find a decent job (40,000+) in the paralegal or administrative field?I have 2 children so I'm looking for low crime and good schools, multicultural and liberal views, health food stores and little to no snow. A place where I can have a yard and maybe a garden. If this sounds like a place you know of or close to it please let me know. I have lived in the winters of wisconsin for too long and am sick of hibernating. Thanks!

Atlanta, Ga would fit many of your criteria...

Now a metro area that includes 5,000,000 and traffic is seriously congested 'Most' of the time.

First---get the JOB and then begin to search specifically within areas close to this location.

The Duluth/Lawrenceville---Gwinnett County/north of the city might be good for you. There are many posts in the Atlanta forum that might offer further insight.

Charlotte, NC would be worth a look. Very strong economy. There is a good mix of conservatives/liberals here (true diversity). People get along well without feeling they have to compromise or hide who they are. We'd love to have you guys! Good luck!!!

If you have a pretty penny to spare, I think California would be right up your alley. Pretty much anyplace, Northern or Southern. No snow, liberal, multicultural, eco-friendly cultural with a lot of focus on natural and healthy ways of living, and high-paying jobs. Crime and schools are hit and miss, and the big issue of course is the general cost of living.

Seattle is another option. It's still expensive, but cheaper than California, and the rain may be an issue for you.

Other cheaper areas to consider would be Austin, Atlanta (Decatur, maybe Duluth), Raleigh (Carrboro/Cary), and parts of Charlotte.
