Zachj7 ... Your photos depict true beauty. Where are they because I know good and well they're not in Oklahoma and even though I'm from California, I'm not familiar with Orinda? Wherever they are, I want to be there.

Thank you Howest2008. I have been to a few of those places you mentioned. Oklahoma is nice, but the majestic mountains, rivers, wine country, coast, beaches, snow, desert makes California number one on the list for me. There is a little bit of everything. Tulsa is certainly better on the eye than OKC. I love the river flowing right through town and the abundance of parks.
Canine*Castle, Orinda is a suburb of San Francisco. The first two pictures are of Yosemite National Park and the last picture is of Mt. Shasta.

I've even been to Mt. Shasta and didn't recognize it because it was so long ago. I agree. There isn't a state that compares to California. Oh my gawd! Once again, I wish I had never left it.
I don't know if it is funny or sad, but I get such a huge kick out of how people just do not understand how pretty the Michigan coasts are. The thousands of miles of coast are tremendous - all along Lake Michigan, Lake Superior and Lake Huron. Top on just the natural - woodsy beauty of the UP and the northern Lower Peninsula - and it's a very nice state.
Here are a few photos of lavender fields in Fredericksburg, Texas located in the Texas Hill Country. I'm not saying that Texas has the most beautiful topography or that it even comes near to being one of the country's most beautiful states, but I certainly think these photos are very pretty. I received them in an email last night.
