People say that Texas is xenophobic but it kind of makes sense at least.
It is a huge state and you can drive all day and still be in it. It sort of is like its own country.
My experience there is that everyone there is used to outsiders. I did not find that they have a positive view of far flung states or a negative one for that matter. And there were lots of people from the northeast where I was.
The pinhole worldview was not common there which gives it extra points in my book.
