I'm 26 and live in Northern New Jersey. DC and Boston would be good picks too, and Philadelphia is great for young people because the cost of living is so much lower. I seem to be encountering more and more 20- and 30-somethings who live in Philadelphia but have jobs in New York, and make the commute 2-3 times a week.

i'd go boston or hoboken or even brooklyn - williamsburg/astoria for sure.
