I have friends and family all over Dade County, Florida. ALL of them consider themselves Southerners. So unless they are told differently, they will continue calling themselves that. Now the Black American culture of South Florida is VERY much Southern and I don't care to hear anyone say that it's not. I know it is.
No, Miami's black community is very diverse compared to other southern cities.
Yes you are right and i dont recall seeing any trailor parks growing up maybe because i grew up in the city. But the Black americans are very Southern People always trying to say Miami isnt Southern. It just doesnt look like a southern city
Im sorry but Miami is simply NOT a Southern city. Its too far South, lol. Its just not Southern. It never really was. It was always influenced heavily by Cubans and other people.
Not the Deep South. Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and even Orlando are all more Southern than Miami.
MAy not be deep south but it is the South i am from there and its just as southern as it wants to be
If its chock-full of Yankees, yes it does. Cities like Atlanta have become a Yankee oasis of sorts.
