OT: Really, you've never looked this up, never figured out what it means?
Simply, to eat one's words cause they swore/stated that they'd NEVER do something, but then alas, due to changing circumstances, etc., they then do just such as they'd claimed they wouldn't/couldn't do. OT/

I live in Pennsylvania, the state the NY/NJ crowd loves to bash as being "backwater" until they move here and eat crow!
I'm from NJ, and consider PA to be one of the finest states out of our 50. And probably the most underrated. Don't be so hard on your state, it's a very beautiful one.
