There is a stretch of Route 50 in Nevada that is supposed to be the loneliest road in the U.S., forgot how many miles it is before you see anything. I've driven cross country on I-10, I-40, I-70 and I-80, I think I-80 through Nebraska and Nevada had some fairly straight forward miles that seemed to last forever. There was a part of I-70 from eastern Colorado through Kansas that seemed to go on endlessly in a straight line.
I drove US 50 from Ely, NV to I-15 northeast of Las Vegas one fine day and passed fewer than 20 cars the whole way. It's lonely, but not straight.

Yes, from the unpleasantness of Liberal KS (don't let Dorothy's house fool you, the town is not pretty) to I-40 in New Mexico, this road is quite straight as it follows a railroad track. What's really scary is the feeling of drowning into the land itself as the terrain is pancake flat for most of the distance. I ran over a tarantula on this road, I'll never forget it. I didn't recognize what "that black crab thing" was until I saw it flipping over in my rear view mirror.
Interstate 8 between El Centro CA and Yuma AZ has some long stretches of road that are straight and flat. Nothing but creosote bushes on either side and nothing else. You almost wish the giant ants from the movie "Them!" would come scurrying across the road just to put a dent in the monotony.
Route 61 between Clarksdale,MS and Tunica,MS is the longest stretch of road in the world with no horizontal or vertical curves.
