Bloomington (35.5 sq. miles) is the Twin Cities largest suburb with ~85,000. The Mall of America is located there as well as several corporations such as HealthPartners, Ceridian, and Donaldson Company, Inc.

Sort of, but Hempstead town (township) only has villages and hamlets in its borders. To make things more confusing one of those villages is also called Hempstead! Most of New York State is divided like this into towns -- if you do not live in a city you live in a town. And only one city, New York City has boroughs --- very confusing and to make matters worse those same New York City boroughs are also counties!
Are these villages, hamlets and towns incorporated within the township they are in, and what purpose is a township. In TX most incorporated cities, towns are responsible for their own police and fire protection and have their own mayor and council people they elect. Some of the fire depts. are volunteer or have agreements with nearby suburbs for coverage same as the unincorporated areas of the county. For the unincorporated areas for police they call the Sheriff's dept. of the county they reside in.
Years ago I would have said no. But so many people have moved to New Braunfels and Comal and commute to SA for work. To many of them it's no different than driving across town. I have friends in north Canyon Lake off FM 306 and they and a lot of their neighbors also commute and this is even further than New Braunfels. Comal County is now over 100,000 residents changing from a rural county to a suburban one. If not New Braunfels than Schertz pop. over 34,000.

By that rationale, Weatherford would be a suburb of Fort Worth, and Denton would be a suburb of Dallas. All three of these are autonomous communities that stood alone by merit of their own importance for years before their current explosive growth.
Cherry Hill township might be the biggest near you, not sure. I looked up King of Prussia for this thread and was suprised it has such a small population --- I always thought it was larger (cool name BTW). Anyway, no one has yet found a suburban town or city with a larger population than Hempstead, 700K+.
