Houston, with Atlanta and Dallas close seconds and Miami in third
Houston and Miami have a very international feel to them, but still retain Southern roots
Depends on what you like. Im really into techno, trance, and raves. For that it would be Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, and Houston in that order. If you like Hip Hop, Houston and Atlanta would be at the top. If youre into Heavy Metal, it would be Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, and Houston in that order. If youre gay, I would put Miami at the top followed by Dallas and Atlanta, then Houston.

First, Miami has no southern feel to it at all. I have never seen anything southern in my life living in Miami. DC has more southern feel than Miami. Miami is not the south. Maybe Broward but not Miami.
Second, to put Houston, Atlanta, Dallas ahead of Miami? If you are saying southern night life fine, but overall?
Miami arguably has the best Night Life in the US. Only city that is/might be better is NYC and Vegas can compete with Miami and NYC. Miami Nightlife is world famous while Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and just about every other city in the US is just regionally popular.
But I do not see how Miami can be in a discussion with Southern Night life unless the south includes Latin America or you include Broward County.

I would say that Miami has the best nightlife in the US. Its the only city I would put ahead of LA, NYC, and Vegas.

It all just depends.
Meh, I'd put Atlanta behind Miami when it comes to gay nightlife.

Some would say that the native African American population has retained its Southernness. That goes to show that there are several facets of being Southern or having a Southern feel.
NEW ORLEANS, feels and is southern but also has it's own very distinct and rich culture. Only major US city that allows open containers and 24/7 alcohol sales except Vegas. Some bars are literally open 24/7/365. Lots of great music and art come out of that place too. If you want a typical Southern city rich in history, music, art, culture, nightlife, and that is vibrant New Orleans would be my first choice.
Dallas, Houston, and Miami dont have Southern feels where nightlife is concerned.
Plus its going to all boil down to what a persons tastes are.
All cities mentioned have good resturants, the area of debate could be the clubs perhaps. But even then its subjective based on taste. I could care less who has good hip hop clubs, because I dont like hip hop. I dont care about Jazz clubs because thats boring to me. Most people wont care about the Metal and Techno, so thats not going to be an issue with them.
I like Techno and Electronic music clubs and clubs where I can hear Heavy/Death Metal. For me Houston is a downer in both catagories. Miami has a great Techno scene, but not a great metal scene. Tampa has (debatably) the best metal scene in the country, but no techno scene. New Orleans is another city with a very good metal scene. So its about which has good clubs for both. The only cities that do in the South are Dallas and Atlanta. But even then, LA, Chicago, and Detroit are better for those kinds of clubs.
