I am a born and rasied Mississippian and after graduate school I plan on moving out of state beacuse of the lack of cultural and diversity in my home state. I enjoy working out, taking care of my body, and being around large cities and a very diverse group of people. I will have my Masters in Nursing by then, hopefully, so I hope to find a place that will also offer good pay and benefits. I am really attracted to the West Coast area...California, Oregon, Arizona. I have never been out there before so I really don't want to make a move without first getting an opinion from others of what it is really like out there. What is the cultural and lifestyles of the West Coast? Are Nurses in high demand out there also?

Any info as to what to expect when Imove out there is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

What else do you want?

Because all I got from your post is that you want to be around different types of people and you want to be able to find a nursing job.

What kind of weather/scenery/topography do you like? Do you want to live somewhere outrageously expensive or somewhere cheap?

Any of the cities in those three states meet the criteria you listed. However, (for example) somebody who would like Portland might not like Phoenix, but they would like San Francisco, but would despise San Diego.

Word to the wise: spend a lot of time in the area you are considering, BEFORE making. You could end up being disappointed. I am living proof. And dont set your expectations too high. My experience has been that living in the West is highly overrated anyways.
