I could make a lot of money but if Im making all that money in a city I hate then its just not worth it, if the city stresses me out and I hate the ways of that specific city then I would easily choose the moderate amount of money in a city I love.

living somewhere that you love is a big thing in life, you gotta wake up in that city every day, interact with the people, drive the streets and look at the landscape, if you dont like all of that, I dont see how the money can make up for it, money isnt everything, thats the way I see it.

you should live somewhere that makes you happy in your everyday life.

I aagree that money isn't everything. Doing well in Florida, but I would rather be poor and living back in NY. Unfortunately, my husband doesn't think that way. So who says WOMEN want the money??????

I would give every cent I earn in New Jersey to live in a place that isn't a corrupt Marxist state with warzone cities and regulations on everything from breathing to sleeping.

Live somewhere you love, you only live once (I think).

get out, do it while your young(im assuming you are) life is too short, if for some reason you may want to return to NJ you always can, Im taking my own advice and hopefully will be moving in a few months.

I don't know about choosing a specific city, because that's rarely ever the choice.

I have an exorbitant salary right now and I live someplace I'm very unhappy with (LA), and it would be lower in someplace I was very happy (Chicago).

Why is this even a thread? Choose where you're happiest. If you have children or dependents, make the sacrifice and choose wherever they could be happiest.

Oh, I'm way ahead of you, though I appreciate it all the same . I've been looking into many areas further south where the weather is better, the people are friendlier, the costs are lower, and culture hasn't been homogenized out of existence; decided on LA (not L.A. )

Are you moving within NM? I'd be surprised to hear you're leaving the state altogether, as you seem quite proud/patriotic when it comes to New Mexico.
