Moving suggestions please? Coming from Hawaii... (rental, live in, prices)

Me and my boyfriend are thinking about moving to the mainland but were not sure exactly where we want to go. We currently live in Hawaii (love it but WAY too expensive for young people to be on their own) and have both lived in other various states when we were younger. We want to move somewhere good for young couples (were in our early 20's) with rental prices around $600/month and job opportunities. If you have any suggestions on some fitting cities I'd love to hear them.
