I thought this would be an interesting topic - what are some of the most common surnames in your town, city, or general region?

Here are some typically common last names in my town, some of which are widespread across the state of New Hampshire:

Coté
Gilman
Hobart
Jenness
Libby
Michaud
Phelps
Robie
Sargent
Stevens
Tuttle
Williams

I'm interested to know what family names are predominant in other areas of the US!

A lot of names that begin with "Van" or "Vander" and end in "sma" or "stra" (like Sytsma or Dykstra) Settled by the Dutch.

This website was great. Here in Lubbock, other than the typical Anglo-Saxon names (Williams, Johnson, Smith, Jones, etc.), the most common surnames were Heinrich, Kitten, Moore, and Martinez. Nothing too special.
