Hello everyone,

We are a young couple who are looking to move to the Atlanta area. One of us will be woking off of Power Ferrys Road. We are looking for a great safe area with great schools. We are looking for that great community feel (bridgemill). We have heard great things about the Canton/Holly Springs/Woodstock/Alpharetta areas. How is the commute time? We were hoping for some local feed back. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

That should be less than an hour on a good day (from Canton).
Problem is, good days aren't as frequent as they used to be. Traffic on I575 is so heavy now that any small thing - such as closing one lane for repairs - can cause a bottleneck that backs traffic up for 5 - 10 miles. Last time that happened, I drove 2 miles (that's how far it was to the next exit) in a little over 1 hour.
On a positive note, with some exploring, you can find a couple of 'back ways' to get there without having to use freeways, for those days when something goes wrong. Provided, unlike me, you are smart enough not to get on the freeway in the first place.
