This month, the CTCA Southeastern began Phase Two of its expansion project, which includes imaging and 66 additional rooms for guest accommodations.

JUST AN ASIDE: The arrival of Cancer Treatment Centers of America is one of the greatest things to ever happen to Newnan and Coweta, and indeed South Metro. Like Pinewood Studios in Fayette County, I think it will be heralded years from now as a "turning point" for the region.

Have an extended family member (sister-in-law's sister) that has been cancer free for some years after her treatment there. This after years of up and down struggle with the old way of treating it. They are beyond thrilled with that place.

A relative in WV who was diagnosed with throat Cancer was told "if" they survived it (given a 50/50 shot at best) that they would most likely lose their entire jawbone, teeth, and have years of therapy ahead, but that they should make arrangements just in case. They wound up getting a second opinion at the Cancer Treatment Center location in Philadelphia... one year later, they were Cancer free. They have a slight indention in their neck and lost ONE tooth after all was said and done. That's it.

Another close relative was diagnosed with late stage 4 Colon Cancer and in WV given at best, 3-4 months to live. He too, went to the Philadelphia CTCA location. He survived another 6 years under their care, and while they were not able to cure him due to the state and aggressive nature of it, that was 5 1/2 years longer, and much of it quality until the end, that he got to spend with his family.

I have heard similar stories. While obviously they are not a miracle hospital, I feel their treatment options and approach to it are better than many offerings, especially for those in smaller cities with lower quality/experienced health care options.
