Metro Atlanta, Savannah and Columbus top the list of Georgia places that hold the highest number of premium jobs, according to new analysis of Georgia Department of Labor data conducted by the Fiscal Research Center of the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.</SPAN>

Premium jobs are defined as those that pay more than $50,000 a year. The top four industry employers in Georgia’s municipalities, statewide, are Wholesale and Retail Trade, Health Care and Social Assistance, Leisure and Hospitality, and Educational Services. Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Columbus and Savannah rank at the top for the number of premium jobs their establishments support.

Glad to see these cities leading the way in Georgia.

I thought the stats were based on the top four industries in Georgia.. What does this have to do with any 2007 stats??

I agree especially Sandy Springs. Glad to see all of these cities make the list. Definitely solidifies Columbus as the largest corporate city outside of metro Atlanta.

Richmond County and metro Augusta are still richer than Muscogee County and metro Columbus...

Not by much. What we can agree on is that Columbus has a much larger corporate base hence the reason for the growth here.
