Hello! Thanks in advance for your help, insight, and wisdom!

I am looking at a move to Milledgeville for work at GCSU. Absolutely love the school and think it would be a great fit for me. But, want to be sure, I am working with the best info for my family. We have a fifteen year old daughter, currently a second year high school student. And, were wondering if we should be concerned with some of the reviews we have seen online regarding Baldwin High? Our daughter is a great student, softball player, and all around great kid. Would Baldwin meet her needs? Or, should we look at some of the privates in town. And, if so, which ones? Thanks for your help!

I would consider living Jones County and allowing her to attend Jones County HS, which has good academics and a championship softball program. Also you might want to post this in the Macon forum since it is kind of in Macon area.

The best public schools near Milledgeville are Jones County and some say Putnam County high school (although I don't know much about Putnam). Pretty easy commute to GCSU from either. Baldwin High isn't the worst, but nobody places schools as a top reason to live in Baldwin either.

Greatschool's ranks Jones County High as a 4 out of 10 and Baldwin as a 5 out of 10.

It pretty much summed up my thoughts before I even visited the site, which is, despite being a little better, I dont think any public high school near Milledgeville is going to be THAT much better to make a huge difference. If it matters that much, you could try a private one like John Milledge. They have a softball team. Softball Coaches Announced for 2014-15
