Only to the degree that Nancy Lanza didn't do much to prevent it...did she plot/plan/mastermind anything? Well, no. But she, for whatever reason, chose to keep *her* guns and lots of *her* ammo around an unsupervised, seriously disturbed individual, with tragic consequences - not only for herself but for her entire community.
If she had lived would she be held accountable for that in a court of law?
