(1) Require ALL employers to e-verify. (2) Make any baby born to an illegal immigrant not a US citizen (3) Stop talking about amnesty and the rule will be that anyone that entered the US illegally will NEVER be a legal citizen. No jobs plus no anchor babies........

It's a matter of political will.

In the 1880s Col. Benjamin Grierson, using less than 1000 troops, kept the Apache brigand Victorio and his band from crossing back into The United States from Mexico. Grierson had the border from western Texas to Arizona covered and Victorio, unable to cross, was tracked down and killed by the Mexican army.

Of course, Grierson's soldiers would've killed any hostile Apaches they encountered, that makes a difference. We can't treat poor Mexicans as though they're brigands.

Interlocking fields of fire behind the dead wire. armed drone flights.. You get the drift......Why in the world would we open the border? What other 1st world country on the planet has open borders? Why don't you try sneaking into Canada or Australia and see what happens.

You can say the same thing about homes. Why then people install home security system? The idea is to slow them down. Create barriers until help arrives. And you don't need a wall. Militaries for centuries have protected perimeters with coils of razor wire. Issue an RFP and sit back. In this economy, there will be hundreds of offers to build it at a fraction of the cost. Heck, the government is FLYING people around the country for free. They must have money.

Hate to say it ;but they need to know coming to US illegally has no future; plain and simple. As long as they think another m amnesty or they will be allowed to stay they will come as we have seen. Employer checks with penalties for employers would do a lot ;plus penalty for being illegal when deported in future. ability to immigrate legally. As long as they believe they can get by or be allowed to stay then they will come.

1. We can't save everyone.
2. We don't even care for ourselves properly, how are we going to care for everyone else?
  • We throw at least 25% of all of our food into the trash, and gift substantial amounts to other countries each year, and yet at least 17 million children alone are dealing with food insecurity annually in the United States.
  • Half of the working population individually earns equal to or less than an independent living wage at a CoL index of 100 (the national average).
  • We're debasing the living daylights out of our currency.
  • There is an upward redistribution of wealth kicking into overdrive and the effects of such are cumulative.
  • We've been engaged in perpetual, self-made, undeclared, unpaid-for war for 60 years.
  • The only people not completely reliant on the government are those who are being increasingly squeezed out of the so-called middle class.
  • For the most part we're using an antiquated, illogical, selective, authoritarian, one-size-fits-all K-12 educational system that is often more about money and a 'race to the bottom' than anything else.
  • Crime is lower over the past few decades while incarceration is higher, evermore profitable, and corrupt.
  • We still don't ever truly own our property (taxes).
  • The majority of the mouth-breathing population believes there's a 'real difference' between the two major political parties.
  • Voting/Elections are still a sham, increasingly so as the stakes are higher.
  • Etc., because this is just silly.

As harsh as it looks, keep them detained like they are is going to have Mom and Dad in Honduras thinking about sending their son alone to the border. Your bluff just got called. That was one of the few speeches I respect Obama for.

And sorry, the country is broke, your problem adios.

It's time we take care of our own because in case some haven't noticed playing international savior and policeman hasn't worked out so well has it?

Yes E Verify it works, that's why people don't want it, neither employers or illegals. I was hired by a large company that used it and the HM pulled my passport from limited DHS access and matched it to the one in my hand.

The basic problem is and will remain too many illegals in the USA. They constitute a fifth column sufficiently large to be self sustaining. Even if you could make a perfect wall you would only cut the input in half. And any sort of economic problem in Mexico will vastly increase the illegal entries.

E-verify sounds good but is easily defeated within the illegal community. All it will do is force the illegal to the gray market.

The first thing that needs to occur is to drive the number of illegals to something that can be managed. Say half a million or so. Get to the point where it is practical to track all of them tightly when they are encountered. Lose none. The bad news is the only way to get to that state is to legalize most all of the illegals here.

Practically we would need a universal ID. Basically a passport. Without it the fifth column we have nurtured all these years will go merrily on. Might do it as a universal card tied to the money system.

We might also consider doing away with cash or at least vastly limiting its uses. Can't run the gray market without cash.

Then we need air tight tracking of visitors. One does not exit as scheduled it gets run down and the person dealt with. And all the time.

All in all it might be easier to open the border with Mexico. There are not that large a contingent of potential illegals left. Just declare all the Mexicans legal. Then work with the Mexicans on the much easier task of cutting off the flow over the Mexican border.
