I understand boomers often love to tout their outdated advise and while its amusing to me, It doesn't really seem like you understand the gravity of the US economics. Middle-class is a myth, Seniors including Boomers are being FORCED to re-enter the workforce way past the age of retirement; Yet all we can seem to talk about is how "millennials need to work harder", "wealth tax" and "Immigrants took urrr jebss!"; Its despicable.

lol at boomer I'm in my mid 30's. I grew with the very people I'm referencing and can speak to their work ethic. I can also speak to the worth ethic on my younger brother/sisters 20-30 and it's not good. Go to a subway/jersey mikes/sandwich shop and get service from a 20 year old. They can barely have a conversation, make eye contact, or even capable enough to make a sub. Yet we want to tax the rich and most productive people in this country to help out these potato heads?

Next I went to Home Depot a few weekends ago which is located off the interstate here and a very busy intersection for the off ramp. The homeless Americans are rampant with signs asking for handouts at each corner of the 4 intersections under the bridge structure for the highway. Yet our unemployment rate in our metro is under 3% and there was large contingency of hispanic illegal immigrants standing outside home depot looking for a job. Anyone who wants a job here can get one and the illegals labor coming to this country only want to work; yet the americans want to be lazy AF and beg for a handout yet your solution is tax the rich.

I always suggest those whining and crying about their problems first look in the mirror. Asses your choices assess your situation and how do you make yourself better. The American dream isn't there to have someone give you stuff but for you to cease what opportunities you have to maximize them. Work harder, be smarter, be better, consume less, and don't breed if you can't afford to support yourself and your kid completely.

Not that I don't agree with the underlying principle you describe...
but by the time these 'parents' are mature enough to even consider the questions... it's too late.
The same is true for the 'choices' regarding education.

There you go again, being all rational and whatnot.

The proponents of a wealth tax are not thinking about tax revenue. They merely wish to penalize the successful for the sin of being, you know, successful.

Some, likely the ones referred to by most here, are the clamoring rabble,
likely the first cousins of the same deplorables who elected the orange lunatic needing to believe his line of crap.

Don't confuse anything that either might think or believe as being well thought out
or likely to come to anything more than a desperate call to arms or forum argument.
The others are the ones to keep an eye on.

Well said. Those others you mentioned, how do we identify them in order to keep an eye out?

Around here... you'll notice that when a question or point is made in a thread
they'll be the ones to argue about form and minutia rather than discussing the content...
pretty much anything to distract and keep that point from being fleshed out or advanced.

(there are others of course to look for as well)

Then they shouldn't reproduce. 35-42 is still a valid age to be having your first child; if you've passed this period and still not self sufficient then time is up.

I agree. Everyone agrees... but then what?

The point is that it's laughable to expect a responsible 30something brain decision...
from the poorly educated/socialized low prospect children having children. Isn't it?

Understanding this... raises the questions of how "we" have allowed or supported or promoted
so many of the children from the least qualified among us to continue to produce so many
of the successive waves of children we've had added since ~1970 when the handwriting was clearly on the wall.

Knock those ideas around for a week or so among your friends and you'll likely come to the
conclusion that these people (aka the deplorable) have been played by those who DO KNOW BETTER.
Not merely who should know better... but DO. And did all along.

It's because of the social and fiscal impact of this (and twenty other similar points) ...
that the idea of clawing back some of their profit to cover the costs they want to ignore has arisen.
