You wanted a great debate. Here's one for you.....
Dolphin vs. Cow. Which is more tasty?
Well, Cow, naturally. I couldn't eat a dolphin. Dolphins are smart. Cows are not as smart as dolphins, therefore, cows are easier to eat.
When I see a steak, I don't see "Dead Cow." I think, "mmm delicious steak." However, when I see a dolphin served up for dinner, I think, "Oh, how sad." Shouldn't they be the same level of sad?
My wife is from Japan. She's eaten whale. She said it's pretty good. In other countries, they eat dogs. Cats are used as medicine. (Dried cat, actually.)
The great debate? AH, the debate, yes.... Should people place their mores upon another society? Or should people just live and let live. After all, it's not your country. Who made you the boss of someone else's gustatory delights?
PS. Don't click the links below if you don't want to see a picture of how cows/dolphins go from "That ain't food." to "That's food." THEY ARE GRAPHIC.

If you sympathize with the dolphins, you should give up that steak too.
Impaling a dolph is as horrible as beheading a cow.
You can't be selective with your sympathy when you are a general carnivore.
Did anyone from People magazine inspire you on the dolphins?
To the OP: you couldn't eat a dolphin because dolphins are smart...and cows are tasty--naturally? I could be wrong about this, but I don't think that intelligence has anything to do with tastiness.
As to the issue of imposing mores on another society--absolutely not! Just because people in one society find something objectionable in another doesn't give them the right to make judgements. I wonder whether you had "Bizarre Foods," on the Food Network, in mind when you started this thread?
The only time I worry about the size of an animal's brain is when I am preparing to tan its hide...
Of course, I was voted "54% most likely to eat a friend" if I was in desperate circumstances, too. This gave rise to some very hesitant laughter in my circle... Food is a matter of perception. The hungrier you are, the wider your circle of perception.
Somebodys been drinking...lol...what a stupid thread.
I would imagine a dolphin would taste slightly better then a human (which I hear tastes kinda nasty).
