Perhaps you save a let cool down your own poop too? I bet the dog is eating some of what you eat... so?
People who don't pick up after their dogs aren't "green living" they are disrespectful, have no idea what they are doing and yeah, save up a year's worth of dog poop and see how much of it there is.
In the name of "green living" people will do all kinds of stupid things.
While flying on a trip, I read an inflight magazine. In it was some sort of training course to teach your dog to do it in a toilet. Not sure if such a thing could be successful, but it would make walking the dog more of a choice of time instead of "gotta do it to keep the floors clean".
Not sure why this is a problem. You can get the disposable bags at the pet store. We use them. They come in small roll's and many times have a small dispenser that you can attatch to your leash. We have a small dog and use those bags all the time. The parks aroung here also have dispensers for the bags. Really now a bag is not that hard to use. You don't even have to be in direct contact with the waste product.
I guess to each their own. My neighborhood is all yards as far as I can tell. One guy for years had his looking like a bit of a jungle. When he passed away his kids tore out all the over grown plants and put in green grass. I added the green because this is the green forum. Most of our neighbors work at keeping the yard presentable. One thing we will be doing is getting rig of our back yard in favor of a pool, barbq area and Jacuzi. Kind of a back yard play area for big kids. That and surrounding palm trees t at the fence line.
My gosh, have you ever looked out the window of a plane?
