My grocery store carries Seventh Generation, so I find it's just as easy to pick up that brand as any other (no special trip to the health food store). It's also very competitively priced at the grocery store.

So I use their dishwashing liquid, dishwasher liquid and laundry detergent. Their label says that 'if every household in the US replaced just one bottle of 25 oz petroleum based dishwashing liquid with their 25 oz veggie based product, we could save 81,000 barrels of oil, enough to heat and cool 4,600 homes for a year!'

Consumer Reports is starting to rate these green products and some of them fare very well, others don't - just like "regular" brands.

I occasionally buy the Mrs. Meyers soap products, made with essential oils of lavendar, geranium and lemon verbena.

Ohhh, I love the Method products too! The all-purpose cucumber scent is delightful, fresh-smelling and it cleans too! We were very lucky to find it when travelling in Baja and, after using part of a bottle, I went back and bought all they had on the shelf!

I love Melaleuca as well, and just did a reorder on the cleaning products. My favorite is Tough and Tender.
