Default Trying to find New Home,But All Construction Seems to Be at a StandStill

Hello,
My husband and I have lived in Guilford County for about a year. We currently live in Whitsett in some apartments and would now like to buy. We have looked in several areas near us because we like this area and like being close to the interstate. We have seen several houses that we like but some look unfinished like in the Reserve and an area off of 421 called Worthing Chase and another area up near exit 128 I believe called the Lake or something at the Cove. Is there anyone who lives in or near these areas that could give us contact names of who to speak with about these properties? Also what are the price ranges,we realize because of the economic challenges that prices could have possibly fell to a much lower rate. Also if you know of any other nice housing areas please feel free to list them. Thanks.

Over in the western edge of Guilford Co. is Broadstone Village. (Old South Homes) I've lived there for about 5 years and although we had a number of HOA related issues for the first few years, that is finally mostly cleared up. There are only a few new constructions sites available so I'm sure you could get a good deal if you try, but the homes are large and relatively inexpensive.

We will look into these homes and see what price range they're in.

Well, you could always buy some land and build the house you actually want instead of just settling for what is available. The economic downturn can have a positive side, framing crews are standing idle, as are good finished carpenters, masons, et al.
