We are looking for a new apartment closer to work and found a townhouse on N Peace Haven Rd. very close to Country Club Dr. in Winston Salem. I think the price is very reasonable ($500). Does anybody live in or around this area. I usually think of Country Club and Peace Haven as nice neighborhoods, but I'm not sure if this is a bad spot or something. I think that 500 for a place in this area may be a little bit too cheap, so I'm a little bit suspicious there may be something going on that I haven't seen yet. Any advice or warnings will be greatly appreciated.

It is a nice area. Perhaps the unit you saw is older. I'm not aware of any "bad" places in that area.

Just down the road near CC and Jonestown there are plenty of apartments that aren't very nice.
I'm intrigued by this $500 rent. I assume it's just an intro rate. The home-buying market may be in a slump, but rentals have been doing well. I'm amazed that a company would slash rent prices to such a cheap amount. I hear it's hard to find a habitable 1-BR (urban) apartment in the Triad for less than $700.

What is it close to? Landmark? Or even the name of the complex? There are a LOT of apts., condo's, etc... in that zip code. $500 is low unless it is a old and/or very small.
